Promises to Keep Patricia SandsPatricia Sands

Promises to Keep

Falling in love with the south of France was no surprise to Katherine. Choosing to walk away from her past and start over was completely unexpected. A new country, a new lover, and the promise of a bright future beginning in mid-life … who knew?

Now there were the exciting dreams of restoring the property on the Cap, of beginning a new career, of experiencing the traditions of Christmas in Provence, of falling even more deeply in love with the man who inspired these hopes.

It was all so perfect, until it wasn’t.

She had embraced new possibilities in life and given her heart only to discover something was being kept from her. Something terrible from her lover’s past. Something that could destroy everything.

What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, had become her mantra. Would it be enough?

The Promise of Provence

Surprise, shock, and a shift in her comfortable life tumble into Katherine Price’s world when least expected. The future she has imagined suddenly vanishes, leaving little to focus upon beyond her career and the caregiving her elderly widowed mother might require.

Fate has other plans.

June in Provence is full of promise when Katherine arrives from Canada, eager to feel renewed by her surroundings. Endless rows of lavender prepare to burst into pink and purple blooms. Fields of sunflowers flow in golden waves among vineyards and olive groves. Ancient hilltop villages beckon. It’s the postcard setting she envisioned, but is that all she needs?

After a year of heartbreak, Katherine has impulsively agreed to a home exchange in the south of France. Colorful locals, a yellow lab named Picasso, and the inspiring beauty of the countryside breathe new life into her days.

The Bridge Club

How far would you go to help a close friend? Is there a place where you might draw the line and simply have to say no?

Eight women. Four decades of friendship. One unimaginable request.

Where can you find a story about friendship, laughter and the good things in life that also touches on alcoholism, infidelity, porn addiction, illness and grief? For many women, it’s often within their own circle of friends. Whether your BFFs are in their twenties or are seniors, everyone has a story.

The Bridge Club reminds us of the complexities of women’s friendships through an entertaining and often moving tale of eight women whose lives intersect once a month initially to play the game of bridge. What began as one night turns into four decades that span the segments of a woman’s journey from youthful optimism to embracing the challenges and opportunities presented in life’s later years.

  1. I would love to read Promises to keep. I mean, who doesn’t want to fall in love in the most romantic country in the world – France? I hope there is a super romantic scene at the Eiffel tower too!! As you can tell, I’m a hopeless romantic!

  2. I can’t choose between Fatal Distraction or The Bridge Club…..so now both will be on my to be read list 🙂

  3. I’d love to read any of these! I have Diane Capri’s Fatal Distraction as well as Patricia Sands’ The Promise of Provence, so out of those left, my top pick would be Macy Farmer’s Dreamlike State. Next pick would be Bridge Club 🙂

  4. I would love to read them all but if I have to pick just one to read first, it would be Macy Farmer’s Dreamlike State!

  5. I’d also love to read The Promise of A Provence – the cover of the book looks so inviting (with the front door open) and peaceful. It just draws me in!
