I’m really looking forward to reading your books.
Hi Phyllis–I hope you enjoy the stories!
Hiya Sharon!
Hi Suzanne! (WAVING BACK)
Do you read medical novels or do you stay away from them?
Hi Sarah–I was addicted to Robin Cook when he was alive. I enjoy a good medical thriller, or thrillers with epidemics. My first medical thriller was MEDICAL DETECTIVES. Got me interested in biology and healthcare.
What caused the change from a medical career to writing?
Hi Brandy–I’ve always been a story teller and I’ve been publishing short stories and textbooks for years. The switch to romance was a learning curve, but it has all come together!
Hi Sharon, do you find yourself using your nursing experiences in your stories?
Hi Lynne–Thanks for asking. Yes, absolutely. I use my nursing knowledge when I write about disease and healthcare settings. My description of a character in a coma in SOME OTHER CHILD came from years of ICU visits to draw blood, hang IVs (I was an IV therapist, now I’m in academia).
Sharon, I am looking forward to reading your books. Thank you.

Hi Carole–Is that a pug in your photo? We have a chubby puggy named Agent Frank (from Men in Black). They are all personality. The Haunting of Hotel LaBelle has a pug in it named Franny. 🙂
Thank you for sharing. 😁
Hi Sarah — You are very welcome!
Thank you so much for being part of the BookRhythem event
Hi Sue–Thanks for participating!
Thank you for being a part of the BookRhythm event and for your giveaway.
Hi Tanja–My pleasure!
Do you like to travel to promote your books?
Hi Gina–Travel is pretty expensive for only book promotion, so I focus on my online presence for that. I do travel for business and pleasure, and when I do, I always bring swag like book marks. 🙂
Hello!! It is nice to meet you!! Love your bio!!
Hi Angel (beautiful name!) Thanks for stopping by and saying hello!
Thanks for contributing to BookRhythm’s Events!!☘
My pleasure, Sandy! Enjoy!
Hiya
Where do you find inspiration?
Hi Suzanne–My books are a blend of family history, topics in the news, ghost stories, cross cultural phenomena, and science. I can find inspiration in the weirdest things. LOL!
Hi! Thank you for joining us in the BookRythm event!
What got you started writing
Hi Angel! My pleasure! Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Sharon! I have the Haunting of Hotel Labelle and I am hoping to read it soon – but I wondered where do you get your inspiration? You seem to have a lot of genres in your writing and that’s awesome!
Hi Erika–I hope you enjoy The Haunting of Hotel LaBelle. Book 2 in the Series, Legacy of Evil, will be out later this year. I’m interested in other cultures and in portraying women as kick ass heroines. When I find an opportunity to blend those two, I’m inspired. 🙂
Hi Suzanne–I think writing was inevitable for me. I told a lot of stories as a child and finally began to write them down.
Do you like to travel? If so, where? And do you use the places that you go to in your stories?
Hi Sharon! How do you come up with such interesting stories? What kind of research do you do? Do stories come to you in dreams or from your travels?
Hi Tanja–Inspiration comes from multiple sources. I love the paranormal and have had many psychic experiences. I’m also grounded in science, so I’m a bit like a mix of Fox and Mulder from X-Files. I want to believe, but I also need good documentation. 😉 As noted before, I research before, during, and after I complete a manuscript. I don’t like loose ends and I want to tie the book up in a bow for my readers. I have a large library of non-fiction books which I supplement with Intenet searches, YouTube videos, and scholarly articles on topics. Sometimes, my husband says, “When are you going to stop researching and WRITE the darn book??” I am a research junkie. 😉
Hello again, Tanja! Thanks for coming back! I do love travel, which is one of the reasons I’m late responding to people! LOL! Yes, I do use the places I visit in my books. Great question!
How do you come up with such interesting stories? What kind of research do you do? Do stories come to you in dreams or from your travels?
Hi Tanja–Thanks for your comment. Sorry for the delay in responding! I am always asking the question, “What if?” What if a an inn goes up for auction? Who would attend? What is the history of the attendees? Who’s the hero, hero, and villain (I write suspense!). Once I have an interesting question, then I completed character sketches for my H/H/V. Then I’m able to create a character driven plot, one that is consistent with their personalities and histories. I research before, during, and after I complete a manuscript. 😉
